The Arch protrudes from the ocean at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula and marks the place where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean.
There is a phenomenon that takes place every certain time, in which a beach can be seen around the arch. Sometimes it is even possible to walk under it while this happens. This phenomenon is caused by the tide and is difficult to predict, although there are several theories that state that it happens every 7 or every 4 years.
Cabo San Lucas has been named the World Capital of Striped Marlin and it is said that here, more of this species has been captured than anywhere else in the world. Los Cabos is also home to the Bisbee Blue Marlin and Black Marlin Fishing Tournament – the world’s most extraordinary sport fishing tournament, which takes place annually in October and offers a $ 3 million prize to the winner.
